Say A Prayer for Mel

I talked to my oldest nephew last night and he told me that his brother is in the Army in Iraq.

Say a prayer for Mel and all of the other sons, fathers and husbands that are there protecting us and our country.

The family is doing fine Dennis said. They are all working hard and praying for Mel's safe return to his family.

Today I went to Arkansas

Today, 24 March was Wanda's sister-in-law's, 90th birthday. I rode over there with Wanda and Earl for a birthday visit with Marvelle, it appeared to be a good one.

We got to see Marvell's two sons, Red, Royce and wife Betina. Her granddaughter Carrie and husband David were there. Her two precious gr-grandchildren, Sarah and Matt were there.

Her brother, Keith and his wife came up from Louisiana. Her sister, Dorothy, drove over from DeQueen, and Wanda, Earl and I drove over from Texas.

It was great seeing every one again, it had been a while. Have many more birthdays Marvelle, you are loved by all of us.

Do you have a mighty Oak Tree or Maple Tree in your yard?

I do not, but I get the blooms, seed pods, and the many leaves every year from my neighbors trees.

Bless my grandson's heart, he climbed up on the house and blew the blooms all down today, so I could pick it up. The bloom, little brown wormy things, filled two thirty gallon trash bags. Yes it did. That is besides what I have been sweeping up every day for the last week.

I believe they are mostly gone and am I glad. That is until the fall and the leaves began to fall, but the good part of that is the shade in the summer. How I enjoy that.

Guess Who Came to Dinner

My many Tallants came for a dinner of "Taco Soup" and the fixings. I think every one had a great time. And must have liked the soup, it was all eaten.

Sophie had her first family get together and she is pictured with the January, Febuary and March birthdays. Melissa and Sophie's birthdays are in Jan, Kami is in Feb, Larr and Josiah in March. Brian and Melissa share a birthday, but Brian could not come this time.

The Anniversary people were Wesley and Janet who married on 3 Jan 1973 in Austin, Texas.

The rest of the family came and I counted twenty three plus Mema and Grandma. Three were missing. What a blessing to have that many loving family members. Thank you all for being here.

Music To Live By

Last night I sat and listened to "The Marksmen", it was at the High School and they sang a wonderful program.

They sang Gospel Bluegrass and they do know how to sing. The crowd did them proud in attendence and aplause.

If you like Gospel music don't miss them next time.

Our Little Angel

Here she is, the newest member of the family. She was born in Jan 2007, and we are all so proud of her.

I now have four children, and their mates; eleven grandchildren and three of their mates; and three gr-grandchildren.

When all twenty five of them come for dinner at one time, it is a madhouse and I love it.


In fact, most of them are coming for a dinner of Taco Soup and all the fixings this Saturday night.

It will be the little girl's first time to meet the family. Isn't she a doll?

It is a beautiful morning here in Texas. The sun is out, it is a chilly 50 degrees.
And I have a blog!!!
Now I must learn how to use it.

Donna set it up for me, but we have different computers and what she sees on hers is just not on my Mac. But I am sure it is there somewhere.
