Christmas

We had a glitch in our Christmas Dinner. Larry called about 10:30 a.m. to say that Denise was in emergency with a sever stomach ache. Missy rushed to the hospital to check on her, Grandma came, heard the news and left to check it out. They were sent home to help take care of Christmas Dinner and have a good time. We were told to carry on, eat and be merry. Denise was released and over here around three, but missed dinner and the opening of gifts. The problem is most likely gall bladder related. She seems to be fine today and is out shopping.

How was your Christmas?

Wes and family are on the way home from Houston. I hope the traffic is light and every one safe.

Brian and family were in Colorado and we missed them. Michael had to work, so we missed him.

We failed to get a family picture this year, but will try again next year.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

From my house to yours, Merry Christmas. Most of my family will be here for Christmas Dinner. There will be four generations of us. Me, my children, grandchildren and g-grandchildren. I can't wait to see them all. My son Wesley and his family will go to Houston to have Christmas with my grandson, Michael. However Kevin will be here with us. Grandson Brian and his family will be in Colorado for Christmas. I wish all of them could be here, but I will enjoy the ones that get to come.
HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS WITH YOUR FAMILY AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR IN 2009.

ANNIVESARY

Today, 60 years ago, Duane Tallant and Mary Posey stood before the preacher and vowed to love, honor and obey until death do us part. We did that for 50 years. We created "Our Many Tallants", who today, will remember Duane with love. He left us nine and a half years ago to go on without him. But we remember him with love, and miss him every day.
We love you Duane and wish you were here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ME

Tomorrow, I will be 81 years young. It does not seem like a year since the children threw me a big birthday party. It was so much fun. Since that date, I have another great-granddaughter, making me 3 great-granddaughters and just 1 great-grandson. Come on kids, times awasting. I will soon be old and can't enjoy them. :(
In this picture, I had just opened a present from my cousin, Connie. She gave me a can of Pork-n-Beans. They were Over The Hill beans. (Directions, 1. Eat Hearty, 2. Take a bath then, 3. clear the room.) :)

Thank you all for being such a great family, and know that I love you all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Jacob will be 7 years old this coming Friday. My how time flies. He had a birthday party last Saturday and it was a fun party. He and sister, Elizabeth shared a party again this year and it was fun for all who was there.
The cake was a two layer cake, one layer for Elizabeth, who turned 9 last month, and Jacob, who is almost 7 now. My granddaughter drove me down so I could attend the party. Thank you so much Karen and Kami for taking me to the party.

Wishing the two of you many more Happy Birthdays, Elizabeth and Jacob.

Hello there, it is Monday. Crackers and I are up and ready for our day to began. She arose a little early, but that is alright, it gives us more time to get our work done.

Stopping in downtown Paris to visit with Denise for a few minutes before going on to genealogy. It makes for a busy blue Monday. How is your day going? I hope it will be, or was, a Blessed Day. It has been a long day

I am bored. I went to a funeral this morning. A friend I met while walking at Prime Time years ago, then found out we went to church together, her husband was buried this morning. I didn't want to go to the cemetery, so I went up to Star~Net and had a sandwich with Denise, Larry and Sophie. Ummmm, good. This afternoon I spent on the computer or working in the house. It was such a beautiful day and I wanted to work in the yard, but did not want to redo my hair for DAR tomorrow. The yard is mowed, just needs a little trimming.
The Rangers are on and I am kinda keeping up with them. I did see them go ahead a while ago, but they are looseing right now. :( Any more snakes Christi? Ugh

Today is Billy's birthday. He would have been 74 years old. He is missed by his family and he would have dearly loved his great-granddaughter. She will only know great-granddad from pictures. Bill is the young man leaning on the wall of the old grocery store in his home town. Well they are all leaning, he is second from the left. Wish you were here with us Bill, we all miss you.
I had forgotten that Bill never got to meet his granddaughter Kayla. She was born after he left us. And today is Kayla's birthday. 4 September....

Happy Anniversary

Larry and Denise. It has been a short 31 years since you stood before family members and said your vows. Uncle Udell did a good job, it worked.
I wish you another 31 years together, and more grand-babies to spoil.

Just remember how much you are loved, by your family.

Enjoy your Square Dancing, it is fun and good exercise.

Stay with the healthy diet, walking and bike riding. For an old couple of thirty one years, you are doing great.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

On August 19, 1953, we were blessed with a second little boy. He got in such a hurry to arrive, that Mamaw didn't have time to get there from Paris. He was born soon after lunch, we didn't leave for the hospital until well after breakfast. He came home to his big brother, his mom and dad, and we were so proud of him. We named him Wesley Thomas after his two grandfathers. Wesley grew up and went to school in Austin. As soon as he graduated from High School he joined the U. S. Navy, following in his big brothers foot steps. Dad was a World War II veteran, so they wanted to do their duty also.
Have a Blessed Birthday tomorrow Wesley. Love you, Mom

In Memory

Thomas Jefferson Tallant was born in Arkansas on March 23, 1882. He died on August 18, 1945, 63 years ago today. He is well remembered by his family, who today, still hold the Tallant Family Reunion on the first Saturday in June every year.
Papa was killed by his runaway team while working in his fields. A train let off steam and scared the horses/mules, and they bolted.
How sad to loose a husband, father, grandfather so soon. He was loved by them all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today is Aunt Goldie's birthday. When she was two years old I came along and made her an Auntie. She told some card playing buddies a while back that she hated me, I was playing also, they gasp, why do you hate her? She made me an aunt when I was just two years old was her reply. We got a big laugh out of that. I was her card partner and I think we won? :) Goldie was born in Oklahoma, the only baby of 12 children born out of Lamar County. No wonder she is odd. :) Just kidding, I love her and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more in years to come.

She will have a fit about this picture, but it was the last one made of the both of us and it is awful, but what is two old 80 years old plus women supposed to look like. She has not seen the picture and probably won't unless someone prints it off and sends it to her. Well, after looking at the picture I did not have the nerve to use it. This picture was taken in 2004 at her sons wedding. It is really good of her.

Again, Happy Birthday Auntie.

MY GRANDDAUGHTER

My granddaughter decided to be a bird and fly. :)

How to do that you ask? Well, she went up in an airplane and SKY DIVED. Wasn't she brave? And she loved it and will do it again she says. Just don't tell me Kim until you are on the ground again. Because it was her first dive she had to have an instructor fly with her. Here they are in the free fall I guess. I do not see a parachute any where.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today is Wanda's birthday. From now until November we are the same age, then I get ahead of her again until 16 July 2009. Birthdays are fun, don't you think?

This is a picture that was taken in 1950 in Dallas. It is a picture of Wanda, Duane and Chester. We had gone to Dallas to visit Wanda before she married. I would say it must have been Easter and we had been to church. I love this picture of all three of them.

Here is a really good picture of Wanda and Earl taken at their 50th. Anniversary Party in 2003. Their daughter and son-in-law honored them with a beautiful party attended by many.

This the last picture was taken in 2007 for their church directory, it is really a good picture of both of them.

Have a great birthday Wanda. We all love you.
