HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK
Today is my grandson's birthday. He is a wonderful kid, just like all the eight others before him. He is in the sixth grade at school, takes all the regular courses and holds first chair in the band at school most of the time. He has a wonderful teacher at school, but that doesn't have anything to do with being in first chair. He and a young lady take turns winning first place I am told. They play the Saxophone. His dad is the teacher.
His mom is my youngest daughter, and he has a younger brother and a beautiful sister with red hair just like their Pepa.
I am so proud of all of them and just want to wish Patrick a very happy birthday today. See you Saturday kiddo!!!!
The picture was taken at his birthday party last year.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.....
Today is Chester and Martha's thirty fifth anniversary. It seem like yesterday that they were married in our den in Austin and left on their honeymoon pulling a boat behind the pickup. Cans and etc. tied behind. They had our trailer stashed away down at Bastrop State Park, and spent a few days there having fun. Soon it was time for Chester to go back to Florida and the US Navy.
Many years have passed since then. Chester finished his three years in the Navy, they moved to Blossom, built a new home and best of all, had us two beautiful baby girls to love and cherish.
Today, those baby girls are all grown and one has her own baby girl for us to cherish. It has been a good thirty five years so far.
Have thirty five more happy years kids, and much love from your family.
I don't have a new picture on my computer. Sorry!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN
Today is Karen's birthday. She was our very first grandchild and, oh, how she was loved by the whole family. We just couldn't wait for her arrival. I rode the bus from Austin to be here when she arrived. All I got to do was help her mom and dad move into their new home. With that completed, I rode the bus back home. Karen finally made her arrival on 17 April and we jumped in the car and were on our way to see that little angel. She was so beautiful and we were all so proud of her.
Today, she owns her own home, and has a daughter of her own. Karen was the first grandchild and Kami was the first great grandchild. What a joy they both are.

CRACKERS
I hate to make this post.
A week ago today I was edging the driveway and holding Crackers at a safe distance. I guess I didn't notice the other end of her leash, and the edger caught it and pulled her into the edger. The buckle on her harness jammed the blade, but both front feet were damaged. She has been a trooper through it all. She sleeps a lot, yesterday and today she is walking where she wants to go, inside and outside. The funnel around her neck keeps her from chewing , or hurting her feet more.
I am so sorry I let her get hurt. Love you Crackers.
Thank you for the pictures Denise.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
One of my grandsons turned twenty seven years old yesterday. Oh my, they are all making me so old with all of their birthdays coming around so often.
I am sorry I am late, but was off line and couldn't help it as you know Jon. Better late then never!! He told me this morning that he had a good birthday, I am glad.
This picture was taken a year ago. A few months ago his cousin Kimmie cut that beautiful hair and Jon sent it to "Love Locks" to use for wigs for children who loose their hair because of illness or treatments. I am proud of you Jon.
I wish I had another picture with his hair cut. Hint, hint, Dad
Love you loads, Mema
A TALLANT LANDMARK GONE
When I bought my home in 1999 the Oak tree was barely alive. The ice storm on 25 December 2000 finished killing it. I had the limbs taken down for safety reasons in 2000/01.
We discovered the tree was hollow on the inside, so Wesley built an Elf House into the tree. It is the cover for a book he had written. Now the tree and Elf House is gone. A severe storm came through here the night of April 3rd. and the tree fell late morning the next day. All it did was take my email with it. I finally got back online this morning, the 8th.
Chester is going to take the tree trunk out a little at a time. Any help would be appreciated. :)
Thank you for taking the pictures Denise.
