On Feb. 28, 1930, my little sister was born. She was such a wonderful person growing up and every one that knew her loved her. In 1947 she married Junior and together they had a little baby boy. In 1957, at the age of 27 she died from a damaged heart. If she could have held on a little longer they could have fixed it. A lot has changed in fifty four years.
This is her senior high school picture. I wonder how she would look now at the age of 81. We miss you sis and think of you often.

This picture was taken in December, my how she is growing. Kami is the granddaughter of my oldest son and the daughter of my oldest grandchild and she is my oldest great-grandchild. That is a lot of oldests. :) I am told that her parents took her to Showgun for her birthday dinner, then she spent the night with Ganny and Pops. Today, Duane would have been eighty seven years old. How we miss him since he has been gone. Eleven years ago today he left us to wait for us in Heaven. The first picture was taken in 1944, when he went to the U. S. Army. The second picture was taken in 1972. The last one taken just one week before he died. We were attending a NARFE meeting and the speaker was Waggoner Car. He was talking about Jesse James and finding the correct grave for him. This is Jesse's hat Duane is wearing in the picture. I think every man there that day had his picture taken in the hat. You are much loved Duane Elmore Tallant.

Donnie was born 23 April 1933 to live on this earth, born with Spina Bifida, he was not expected to live very long. With tender loving care, spunk that few have, he lived until 28 April 1994. The doctors once said, it was tender loving care that allowed him to stay this long. He also was a strong, determined person that lived life as he found it. God called her home to bloom in his garden in Heaven in June 1957 when she was just 27 years old. We have missed her so much all of these years.

Tomorrow is Kami's birthday. She was my very first great-grandchild. She is now in the first grade at school, and really enjoys it. She is the daughter of my very first grandchild. This picture was taken in January at Sophia's birthday party. They were all having so much fun, running and playing. I am so glad they get to play together at parties. Birthday's are so special.

Yesterday was Myrna's birthday. I forgot it. Neds birthday was the ninth. I forgot it also.
I hope you two kids had a very Happy Birthday this year. Myrna is our niece, but she lives far away. It is hard to remember birthdays when you are not involved in day to day visits.
We have phone visits and they are always great. Again, many, many more birthdays kids.

January 13th. is a big day in our family. Ella was born first, then along came her neice Melissa. A few years later Melissa's nephew Brian was born on her birthday. This picture of the three of them was taken at the Family reunion in June 2007. Since then, one of the three has been missing from the Reunion. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY kids. It is a very unusual thing to have three born on the same day, not years of course. That would tell their age if I did that.

In January 1973 Wesley and Janet came into the living room and announced that they wanted to get married before he went back to the Navy. We called their nearest friends and family. Duane went to HEB and got a beautiful cake. We all scurried around, got it all together and they were married in our Den on 3 Jan 1973.

Wesley came home from the Navy in 1975 and they bought a home in Austin where their first two baby boys was born. Wesley became a member of The Paris Fire Department and they moved to Paris in 1981. They bought a home in Blossom where the third son was born. They worked and raised their sons in Blossom where the boys finished school. Wesley retired and opened a Small Engine Repair shop and started writing books. He has three published now and will have a book signing Jan 7th. at Hastings.

Janet is a cancer survivor and we are so happy to be able to say that.

On this day in 2003 another wonderful family was formed. Brian Duane married Laura Ann in a beautiful ceremony here in their home town. They have been blessed with a beautiful little daughter, and now another daughter is on the way. She will arrive to join the family in March. What a blessing they all are.

The couple known as "The Amazing Graces", was at one time the youngest kid of two sets of parents. The female was "Melissa Ann Tallant. The male was "Timothy Lynn Grace". They were both born in different parts of Texas. As adults they met in Paris, Texas while working with a group of children at church. They dated for a while, he was a band teacher at high school and she worked for her sister and brother-in-law.
The rest is history. They were married on 17 Dec 1994 in a beautiful ceremony attended by family and friends. They are the proud parents of two sons and a beautiful red headed daughter. What a beautiful family.

Our nephew, Jerron Dale Waters was struck down by a drunk driver in May 1981. He was buried on Mothers Day. He is missed daily by his mother, dad and sister, and all of his extended family. It has been many years Jerron, but they, and we still miss you.
He was just 25 years old.

Duane served in the US Army during WWII. I met him when he came home for the first time since going over seas. He was a handsome guy and it was love at first sight for me.
We dated off and on and was married on his mothers birthday in 1948. We produced a family of 26 wonderful people. Kids, in-laws, grandkids and 4 great-grands.

We had 50 years together before he died in April 1999. How we miss him still. He was the glue that kept the family together all of these years. And when we join together, that is when he is missed the most. We love you, Duane, Dad, Pepa

This is Trixie Grace, one of my Granddogs. She belonged to the Grace Family who considered her a member of the family, along with her friend, Sparkie Grace.

A few days ago Trixie found an open door and went out to explore. She got into the street and was hit by a car that did not even stop.

It was such a shock for her family. She will be well remembered by the children who made a memory box to keep her toys and pictures in.

Heads up again folks. Tomorrow is Aunt Goldie's birthday, I am not telling her age, she is just 2 years older then me. This picture was taken in 2004, but I think it is a great picture of her.

Happy Birthday Goldie and I hope you have many more years of riding your beloved lawn mower. She is a whizzzzz when it comes to riding that bucking 4 wheel bull, and enjoys every minute of it. Singing to the top of her voice, growing old gracefully.
